Michael McCurdy illustrates books for adults and children, and he has also contributed occasionally to college and school textbooks. He has written a number of children's books as well, and his wood engravings and drawings appear in magazines and in corporate publications. His work is available in color (colored scratchboard drawings, acrylic, casein) as well as in his popular black-and-white style.

He is a regular and longtime contributor to Weavings magazine.
