MOLOCH   A Broadside by Allen Ginsberg & Lynd Ward
In 1978 Penmaen Press printed and published this broadside of Allen Ginsberg's "Moloch" section from his book Howl accompanied by an original wood engraving by the great American wood engraver and illustrator Lynd Ward. The poem was hand set, hand printed, and published by Michael McCurdy. (It was McCurdy who brought Ginsberg and Ward together after Ginsberg told McCurdy how influential Ward's woodcut novels from the 1930s had been on his poetry, especially Howl.)
The broadside is signed by both Ginsberg and Ward and measures 18 x 25". Three hundred were printed, with 150 signed and numbered.
